Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS):
Hantavirus is a deadly disease spread by rodents
Symptoms of HPS are similar to flu and include fever, chills, shortness of breath and loss of appetite. No treatment for HPS is currently available HPS affects the kidneys resulting in death.

Murine Typhus: An acute infectious disease including fever headache, and severe rash, all quite Rickettsia typhi (mooseri), transmitted to humans by fleas from rats (Xenopsylla cheopis). Avoid Active and inactive areas associated with rats, mice and other rodents.
Murine typhus is more comonly found in rat-infested urban areas.

Rat-bite fever (RBF): Infectious disease contracted through the bite from a rat or mouse. Characterized by fever and headache and nausea and skin eruptions. Some cases have been reported by people who were just exposed to urine and droppings.

Leptospirosis: Bacteria disease that affects humans and animals. Outbreaks happen when water becomes contaminated by urine. Symptoms include high fever, muscle aches, headaches and diarrhea.

Diseases caused by Fleas

The Bubonic Plague The most deadly flea-borne disease is the bubonic plague. Although the bubonic plague is not as common as it used to be it is still a very serious disease.

Flea Borne Typhus Typhus is spread via the bite of an infected flea. The rodent has to first have the bacteria. then the flea has to bite the infected rodent and then bite the human or animal to spread the disease.

Bartonella Henselae (cat scratch fever) This disease is contracted when the infected rodent or animal scratches bacteria into the skin of the animal or human.
Diseases spread by Cockroaches Cockroaches live in contaminated materials and walk everywhere including uncovered food, spreading disease with every step.

Dysentery Dysentery can be fatal left untreated. Inflamation of the intestines and colon that causes diarrhea with bloody stool fever and pain.

Typhoid Cockroaches produce droppings wherever the walk. Typhoid is caused by contaminated water from urine and droppings.

Salmonella Caused by feces and urine in food, water and surfaces of food preparation.
